Type of Entrance Exams
Our school has three kinds of entrance exam: there is a Commendation Entrance Exam and a General Entrance Exam for our two-year graduate program as well as a separate exam for our one-year Intensive Course for Persons with Work Experience. Here, the Intensive Course for People with Work Experience is geared towards people engaged in groundbreaking research or development and those who have made achievements in their careers or in the creation of artistic or technological works. In this course, a curriculum that usually takes two years is condensed to one year under the condition that students proceed with their research based on their previous accomplishments.The examinations have different application requirements, please check the respective application guidelines.
Commendation Entrance
Application for the Commendation Entrance Exam is limited to current students and recent graduates whom the recommender can responsibly assure his/her exceptional academic ability and character, and make a firm promise to enroll after passing the exam.The exam is conducted once a year.

Application Screening Process and Interview (online)
Interviews will be conducted individually and last 30 minutes. The first 10 minutes are for your individual presentation and the final 20 minutes are for questions.
General Entrance
This is an entrance examination for those who meet the application qualifications. Applicants who are recognized by the university as having academic ability equivalent or superior to that of a university graduate, and who will be 22 years old on April 1 of the year of admission, are eligible to take the examination. The examinations are held twice a year, but if the total number of successful applicants for the commendation entrance examination, the 1st round Entrance Examination, and the 1st and 2nd intensive course for persons with work experience entrance examination exceeds a certain number, the 2nd round Entrance Examination and the 3rd Intensive Course for Persons with Work Experience Entrance Examination may not be held.

Interviews will be conducted individually and last 25 minutes. The first 5 minutes are for your individual presentation and the final 20 minutes are for questions.
Intensive Course for Persons with Work Experience
The Intensive Course for People with Work Experience is geared towards people engaged in groundbreaking research or development and those who have made achievements in their careers or in the creation of artistic or technological works. For the Intensive Course for People with Work Experience, applicants are not required to have a bachelor's degree to take the exam if their qualifications have been approved through a prior evaluation.Applicants who do not have a college degree may take the examination if their application is approved. The exam is conducted three times a year.

Please meet with the faculty member with whom you wish to have research guidance in advance to discuss your research. If you are approved to receive research guidance for your master's research, please be sure to enclose with your application a research guidance approval form stating that you will accept the guidance if you pass the entrance examination. Applications will not be accepted if the Research Guidance Approval Form has not been submitted.
