Is there a difference between this degree and the two year degree?
The degree given to those who complete the 1 year course is the same degree (Master of Media Creation) given to students who have completed the 2 year course, whether it be through the recommendation entrance exam or the general entrance exam.
Are there any counseling sessions for higher education?
We are planning to hold several college counseling sessions each year. For a detailed schedule, please refer to the "School Information Sessions." In addition, you can apply for the facility tour, as well as a consultation with a faculty member of your choice at any time by clicking on the "Request a School Tour" link. After you start considering enrollment, it is recommended that you start meeting with professors as soon as possible.
How often do I need to come to school?
During the first semester, students will need to come to school almost every day. For the second semester, it is possible to make it about two days per week, depending on how you choose to take the classes (assuming that you are also taking time to work on your master thesis.)
Are there student dormitories?
Located in a residential area about 1.3 km from campus, the living space is equipped for comfort and functionality, including unit baths, beds, and electric cooking appliances. 22,800 yen/month, 40 rooms total (private rooms, Western-style tatami mats, air-conditioning and heating, all electric, with car and bike parking). Keep in mind that in the event that there are too many applicants it may not be possible to stay in the dormitories. For more details please refer to "Student Dormitories."
What career options are there after graduation?
IAMAS is a pioneering school for advanced media creation, and many of its graduates have found employment in new educational institutions and cultural facilities. Other paths included career options such as IT-related companies, web, graphic, and product design, programming, art, entrepreneurship, as well as continuing on into doctoral programs.
